Trailer: ‘Annabelle: Creation’ tries to extend The Conjuring Universe

The film is set to open in more than 3,400 theaters August 11

Friday, August 11 will see the opening of the latest film in The Conjuring Universe – the R-rated Annabelle: Creation, which is set for a wide release in more than 3,400 theaters in the U.S. and Canada.

Starring Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto, the official press release from Warner Bros. described the films plot as, “Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.”

The supernatural horror film is written by Gary Dauberman, who wrote 2014’s Annabelle, and directed by David Sandberg (Lights Out).
