SYFY renews Channel Zero, sends Rutger Hauer to the Butcher’s Block

New episodes return in early 2018

SYFY confirmed this week that its horror anthology series Channel Zero is, indeed, renewed for a third season. It will be returning in Spring 2018 with six new episodes.

The new season, called Channel Zero: Butcher’s Block, is inspired by the creepypasta story Search and Rescue Woods by Kerry Hammond, first published on Reddit.

Like the original story, the plot of Butcher’s Block revolves around a series of supernatural events that occur when mysterious staircases suddenly appear. The main difference is that in Hammond’s work, the location is the woods whereas in SYFY’s Butcher’s Block, it’s an urban setting – the fictional Garrett, Michigan.

Rutger Hauer

The series stars Olivia Luccardi (It Follows) as Alice Woods, who stumbles upon the supernatural events. But the big-name star is Blade Runner‘s Rutger Hauer as Joseph Peach, a meatpacking tycoon. Teen Wolf‘s Holland Roden plays Alice’s older sister, Zoe.

The network also released a moody teaser trailer.

According to SYFY, the primary cast and characters are as follows:
